What Naomi Ratke doesn't like about That Hip Joint Cafe:
Stopped in for lunch. Food was excellent with a good range of choices, but the service rather poor. He was friendly and polite, but seemed out of his depth. Was happy to get us water once we asked for it. Tiny tables so we couldn't fit our lunch and wallet on the table at the one time. Noisy from the highway but also from the kitchen as cutlery and plates were being dropped into the sink. View all feedback.
Milly and her team at this small establishment do an amazing job. The speed at which they prepare the food and the quality of the menu is truly exceptional. If you're looking for a fantastic little coffee shop on the highway, this is the place to visit.

Do not be in a hurry for coffee here. The staff are lovely as is the decor but allow a lot of time. If you have the time it is worth it.
We made a split second decision to pull over at the café for lunch. We had two specials. Mine was a wrap with chicken, rocket, spring onion and cheese and was extremely tasty. My husband had a Turkish Bread with Pastrami and Relish he loved it so much he wanted a second. We also couldn't resist a home made chocolate and caramel slice (which I did go seconds) and he had a carrot cake both truly awesome tasting like a home cooked sweet rather then a mass produced one. I am sad it isn't closer to home for us I would definitely frequent this café.
Omgoodness such a great find! Cute little cafe just off the Pacific Highway on Rose Ave slip road. Where else would you get gourmet sandwiches made by a fully qualified chef and coffee made on the Rolls Royce of coffee machines a 'La Marzocco'? Clearly there is a passion for excellent. I had a huge salmon and salad toasted sandwich and a large cappuccino with almond milk for less than $15. Best value lunch in town!
