I dont know what this other reviewer is talking about but this place I great! Many great menu items such as Bacon Wrapped Steak, Garlic bread with Gorganzola fondue, Pan-fried goat cheese salad, and shrimp and scallop scampi. Service is great everytime I go. The atmosphere is wonderful. I would eat here everyday if I could! View all feedback.
What BernadetteM doesn't like about Firefly Bistro:
Dont be fooled- no gluten free experience here. There is a menu- just no safe handling. The fries are not prepared separately- according to the server- are you allergic just sensitive to gluten? I asked the right questions and chose wisely, still became gluten and sick. Another place not safe to dine despite a listed gluten-safe menu. Clearly they do not offer protection against cross contamination. View all feedback.
I have been here a few times in the past, but every visit it gets worse. On our last visit our steaks sat waiting at the kitchen for about 20 min. as our waitress just walked around chatting. After we got our food which was sitting so long, it was 1/2 cold and over cooked. Our steaks we ordered med. rare, were now well done from sitting so long. When the grinch like waitress came back and we informed her of the problem w/ our food and she started to argue with us and said the food was fine. Thats the way its supposed to be and stormed off. We ate 1/2 our meal and asked for a manager. The manager who came over was one of the owners and she didnt care much either. Said she would talk to the chef about it. It was like pulling teeth to get her to take some off the bill. She only took about 10% off the bill. How cheap can you get. She should have comped both our meals. Its quite obivious the owners are only in it for the money and dont really care about thier customers needs and or problems. Take your money and go to one of manchesters other fine resturants. I know we will. We will never go back to Firefly after this and will tell all others to stay away too.
The service and food were both way above par. Very classy place tucked in a town of moderate places.

Being new to the neighborhood, a few friends and I decided to try Firefly Bistro for the first time. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the food was great. However, it took nearly an hour for our food to be served. Not once did the waitress come back to our table to tell us that the food would be out shortly, as most restaurants do. The food came about fifty minutes after ordering. One of my friend 's meals was supposed to come with toast. The waitress said the toast would be right out. The toast never came, and neither did the waitress. There wasn 't any wait staff around at all in fact. In order to speak to the manager, I had to call the store using my cell phone. The owner actually ended up coming to my table. We politely explained that he hadn 't received his toast and we just wanted to bring it to her attention. She replied with, Well, you didn 't have to call the store to get my attention, I was right up around the corner. My response was, The only way to get any kind of service was to call. I also brought it to her attention that the employee that picked up the phone was a member of her staff, and put me on hold for about three minutes before the owner was able to answer, when she was a little over an arm 's length away from the phone. I don 't believe she was aware that I could see both her and the employee that answered the phone from where I was sitting. More rude remarks were made by the owner in our conversation, as we were simply trying to tell her it could all be settled if he received the remainder of his order. The check finally came, and the waitress said, Hope your day gets better in an outrageously sarcastic tone.
Crisp on the home fries does not mean burnt home fries
