La Garissade - Cœur de Causse

We had to eat. Food was good, but the amount is far away from enough and price very high

La Garrisade offers many traditional dishes with a modern contemporary twist, and refreshes the à la carte menu after the courses you choose without supplements, no matter what. The selection of dishes is good, all really interesting, so...the selection is quite difficult. The wine list is quite extensive and well priced. The dining room is both rustic and stylish. Our food has been presented beautifully, with delicious aromas and interesting texture combinations, for the three courses we have chosen. Personally my Limousin Steak main course was the best I've ever eaten. Service was very good, friendly and efficient. We thought our meal was an excellent value considering all.

The dining room at La Garissade is part of the old building that has been tastefully maintained to create a stylish eating area. The staff are polite, friendly, professional and with a ready smile. The food is very, very good, and plentiful. One of the...few places where my steak was bigger than my stomach. This is a relaxed, unpretentious small town restaurant with friendly feel and inventive take on regional fare. There is akso a large outdoor terrace for when the weather is right (as it often is in this region of France). Our meals were carefully prepared with fresh local ingredients and excellent value for money. A nice variation on the traditional menus encountered elsewhere in the region. A good choice of wines (at a very reasonable price).

After eating such great food throughout France, we were surprised at how mediocre the food was in comparison. The best part was the Cahors Malbec wine. Some of the portions such as the duck tasted and looked like they were sitting around a long time...and were re-heated. Plate presentation could also be more aesthetic. Since we most probably will return as it is the nearest restaurant to where we stay, we hope it will improve in the future. Yes, morning coffee was excellent.

A nice logis in a small village. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was small and functional. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant, The food was very good and the service was pleasant and efficient.
