This is an amazing restaurant! I've heard big things and was happy to eat here at last! We split an order of scallops and salmon! Both were delicious and the scallops I would get 100% back! They are perfectly cooked! We had a great service and a magnificent view of the lake. View all feedback.
What Shevaani S doesn't like about The Cedars Floating:
We ended up here for our kids birthday. Loved the salad bar had plenty of greens and a good selection of dressings. Food ordered included steak and lobster, halibut and a salmon dish. Everything was cooked good; wasn't anything exceptional but a good place to a dinner. You pay for the it being on the water. View all feedback.
It's was my 65th birthday and we've never tried Cedars, so we wanted to give it a try. I was in the mood for prime rib and Cedars is known for its prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and so tender. Honestly one of the best prime ribs I've ever had. Even the baked potato, asparagus and huckleberry ice cream were all excellent. Our server, Kayla recommended the scallops, so that's what my wife ordered and love it. She loved it so much she wanted to come back next week. We already made reservations for Mother's Day, so you can probably tell the food was divine, service was top notch and the view unparalleled.
We visit Cedars every year during restaurant week, and it never disappoints. This year, the three-course meal was priced at $45. I chose the prawns for my appetizer, followed by the salmon for my main course, and finished with the chocolate mousse for dessert. I also ordered a huckleberry Moscow mule and a small fishbowl drink. For an additional $10, you can add the salad bar to your meal. My total for this visit came to $85, and I would definitely do it again. I highly recommend Cedars for special occasions or simply to pamper yourself—10/10!
We were visiting Coeur d'Alene, ID and we were told to try Cedars Floating Restaurant. We made reservations and on our way our driver advised us to refrain from filling up on the salad bar, which was hard to do. We arrived on time and had a wait of about 20 minutes, probably due to our request for a window table. After being seated we were quickly served water and asked about drinks. We opted for a bottle of Justin Cab, which was not heavily marked up. I had the New York and Shrimp with mashed potatoes and the wife had the Seafood Risotto, and both dishes were very good. This place is known for their Prim Rib, which I should have chosen, but went with the advice of our server, not to say I wasn't happy, but the Prime Rib looked good also, so I guess next time. The place was floating on the water and the ambiance was nice, so if you are in the area and looking for a Steak House give this place a try, but don't over due the salad bar unless you share the main dish which would have been a smart move on our part, but sometimes it's hard to share. There were also many gluten free options, since it's mainly seafood and steak. Sorry for the lack of photos on this post, but we got to drinking and well you know what happens after that, not to mention our server was over talking with us quite a bit which was nice.
I received a call back from Lynette at the restaurant, and we had a pleasant conversation. She was very understanding and genuinely interested in hearing all the details about our experience. I could tell that this is not their usual standard of service. Lynette was eager to address the issues we faced, and I appreciated her care in following up with us. Although we did have a disappointing experience, I'm glad to know that they are proactive about resolving it with Jamie and making improvements for future guests. I would be open to giving them another chance when we're back in the area.
