The sc... read more We were absolutely blown away by this restaurant. The food was exceptional so if you're looking for traditional local food, this is definitely the place. The schnitzels were amazing, asparagus was cooked just right and the steaks were incredible. They also have very lovely wines...and great dessert! We had the wine pudding and apple strudel, both were exceptional! Great service and very nice atmosphere. The price was very affordable also, we ate here on two evenings and paid around 40e for two main courses, a few glasses of wine and one dessert.

But e... read more We really enjoyed our meal here. You can tell this is popular with the local crowd. Which tells you it’s consistent and good. It’s not a fancy restaurant. But expect home cooked local fare. Both of our dishes were tasty and well prepared. They have...a good selection of wine as well. Make reservations in advance to ensure you get a seat.

Note than English menu has less options than German menu but we were given both so no...problem. I had the Jäger schnitzel which was in a lovely mushroom sauce with generous salad and fries. My wife had the pork knuckle which was huge not quite the same style we had in another part of Germany more ham than pork but it was nice and came with lots of good saurkraut. Riesling was good and everything was great value for the size and quality

I eventually gave up trying to get the waitress to spot that I wanted the bill and walked up to the counter...to pay. Oh, and like many places in Cochem, they only take cash unbelievable in 2017!!! People giving this place 4 or 5 star ratings must have pretty low expectations.
