What User doesn't like about Gleis 9:
A very simple railway café, while we waited for our train. This is not the type of restaurant to enjoy a full meal, we were just looking for a bit fast to lift the hunger tanks. Had a very simple... German sausage with potato salad and a bun and a few glasses of riceling. Track 9 filled the bill that the food was well prepared, the potato salad was good and delicious, exactly what we hoped. I visited Gleis 9, which is the cafe/bar/restaurant just outside the Cochem train station with some friends in early April 2015. I had Polish-style schnitzel. It was delicious! Large portions and delicious food, we were all very happy with our meals. Each meal comes with a salad too which is a really nice touch. The staff were really friendly and helpful, we had a 10 minute conversation with the restaurant owner about why we were in Cochem, I tried out my German!
We stopped off here with the intention of having a drink and using the toilets before catching our train. Whilst some of the party when to the toilet a member off our group went to the bar to order, is soon became apparent that the barman/owner was deliberately ignoring our friend and even walked away when he tried to place an order. At this point we decided that this was not the place for us and went to leave, to which the barman became very aggressive and started shouting at us in German. When I asked him what the problem was he said that we could not leave until we had paid to use the toilets, he even insisted that I pay for those who had not used the toilet, in order to keep the peace I gave him the money he was demanding. Incidentally the toilets were the dirtiest and smelliest I have ever used in Germany, one of which looked like it had been blocked for a long time. If he is happy to charge for toilets in that condition it make you wonder what the rest of his facilities are like?

By the way, the toilets were the most dirty and smelling I've ever used in Germany, one of which looked like it had been blocked for a long time. If he is happy to calculate for toilets in this state, do you wonder how the rest of his facilities are?
