There are truly so many wonderful cafés and 'conditories ' in Coburg, but this was by far our favorite. Best selection of cakes for your traditional German treat of 'Kaffee und Kuchen ' (go early for best selection! Great opening hours, friendly staff, beautiful seating indoors and out. They also have several smaller versions throughout town, each with their own unique design to compliment the location. View all feedback.
What Laura Sauter doesn't like about Cafe Schubart:
This is a place we often go for cake to take home. I can more than recommend their cake , particularly the Flockensahne . The cafe is a disaster. I 've been there a few times over the years and always regretted it. The menu is uninspired and uninspiring and when the food finally comes so is the execution. The service is slow and unwilling, I got my food 1/2 an hour after my friend and later the waitress peeked out of... View all feedback.
On our way to the train station we went into Cafe Schubart. The service was fast, it might have been friendlier. The atmosphere was positive on the whole. A lot of light came through big windows from several sides. Some people were sitting apart in a separate room. The offer was good, our ice cream apparently homemade and excellent.
This is a cafe located next to the Market place. There are some tables placed outdoor, which makes it a great place for people watching. We had the poppy seed tart and the apple pie, which was delicious. They also offer a nice selection of coffee and tea. They do not any servers, so you have to order and pay at the cashier and bring your own food out.
I had coffee and pancakes (crepes) that were very good here. You can opt for the breakfast buffet. The building itself is beautiful. The interior isn 't as impressive to me. It wasn 't bad, it 's just that the exterior is so striking. It 's in the square (Marktplatz) in Coburg which is a great place to people watch. I didn 't hear any other Americans, so it was nice in that way. I think, if you can, it 's better to sit outside. I believe it 's open until around 8pm, but double-check.
