Jacob's Ladder - Cobh
Jacob's Ladder
Description
WatersEdge, a scenic waterfront restaurant, promises breathtaking views and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. While many guests rave about the stunning vistas and friendly staff, opinions on the food and service are varied. Some celebrate the delicious seafood options like mussels and gnocchi, while others find the fish and chips underwhelming and service slow. Occasional hiccups, such as minimal check-ins from staff, have led some diners to recommend exploring other dining options. Overall, for those seeking scenic relaxation, WatersEdge offers a memorable spot, though culinary expectations may need to be tempered.

Rated one of the top restaurants in the area. Was a cute place with a coastal casual feel rather than classy. The food was mediocre. I was really looking forward to lamb and it wasn't as tender as I had hoped for...same thing with the monkfish. Burgers were good, the ravioli was good and the red curry was also good--not too spicy. They also had a good wine selection and wine available on tap. Service was a little slow, so with the mediocre food, higher prices and subpar customer service, we removed two stars. If you are in the area and looking for a good staple, this is definitely a great option.
Gnocchi salmon dishes were excellent. Restaurant right on the water with lots of windows. Great service nice presentation of wine food. Decor a bit plain but clean tidy.
My son and I had a lovely dinner here while visiting Cobh. Great service and gorgeous views! My son had the Cobh Fisherman Seafood Chowder and the Fresh Fish Cake. Our server suggested that I try the Steamed Irish Mussels dinner, a very generous and delicious meal, which my son had to help me finish! We would defijiggo back!
Great staff and great food. Overlooking Cobh harbor. We're staying at the Waters Edge Hotel, which is attached. Will definitely be back!
If you're look for a beautiful view to sit outside and have 1 drink. 1. Only 1, then this is the place. They won't come back to check on you. Plan accordingly In my opinion- eat elsewhere. I love fish and chips and have eaten them in a few countries. We ordered them here. My husband was too hungry to not eat it but hated it. I ate the chips which were good, and only could manage 2 bites of the fish. After no one coming to check on us, offer another round or bring a check we finally went in and waited up front for someone to get us a check. No ambiance inside. I was very very not impressed and underwhelmed.
