Osteria del buon VINO - Cluj-Napoca

A very impressive combination of exquisite Italian cuisine, a wide and carefully selection of fine wines, homemade desserts that will make forget about that diet you promised yourself you would start a new years day, top it all off with a warm hospitality and you have a recipe for an amazing place. Did I mention they have wine and cheeeeeeeeeeeeese you can buy for yourself to forget about that break up.....sorry I'm getting carried away. Just go there and you won't regret it.

Winelist excellent. So i got the name. Let's however not forget an osteria also serves food, which was dissapointing at best. Service good i mean the way the waiter talks and serves , however waiting one hour for your food in a 7 8 table restaurant is absolutely appalling. Getting back to the food. I had fritto misto now that is pretty difficult to mess up, so that was fine as it doesn't take special skills to do it's deep fried. I could argue that the plate was rather small but i will not. Fritto misto was OK. Nothing less nothing more. My spouse had zucchini and shrimp pasta. Taste was decent at best and, she had 1 shrimp only and her hat like pasta plate was half empty. I would understand that if you serve a delicacy and the serving looked good. But this is an osteria, we are talking about pasta and the serving did not look good. Anyway, this was after an hour's waiting ! Judging by the appaling combination of food taste and service time i consider it pricy as well, as i can think of a sum of other italian restaurants which serve better food and faster in Cluj for similar prices, so i won't be returning soon. Too bad, as i fail to understand the rating.

Turned up late and without a reservation, with two children. The waiter was great with the kids although it's not generally a kids sort of place. Love this restaurant! It never disappoints. Excellent food, excellent wine and superb staff.

This is a very good point for business dinner in the heart of cluj not far from opernhaus. fantastic selection of Romanesque and Italian wines. owners very friendly mauro from northern Italy. he also speaks romantic. he is sometimes in the kitchen or he can help in selecting the wee. he likes to talk about slow eating and great weine. strongly recommended to make reservations. the table between the weeping is popular. I was there only a few times for the business lunch especially during the film festival tiff. strongly recommended dan draghicescu film producer

Cozy atmosphere, sami is a really nice host. large selection of wines. in the did vegetarian friendly! sweet music, a real Italian experience.
