Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Clovis
Dickey's Barbecue Pit
Description
This restaurant offers a range of experiences, with customers encountering significant inconsistencies. While some diners praise the fall-off-the-bone ribs and welcoming service, others report disappointments, including cold, overcooked meats and unsatisfactory cleanliness. Instances of long wait times and limited menu availability have led frustrated patrons to seek alternatives. The atmosphere appears run-down, further detracting from the dining experience. Despite a few glowing reviews, the overall sentiment suggests the establishment is struggling, leaving many hopeful for improvements or a change in management to restore its former glory.

This was my first time at this restaurant, and the customer service was excellent. I felt very welcomed. The ribs were exactly as advertised - fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious. I had the kartoffel casserole and green beans as my sides, and both were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the mood for some delicious BBQ.
I tried the brisket chili and a bowl was just enough for me. It was flavorful and included tender pieces of delicious brisket. I really enjoy a good BBQ dish.
The deep brisket always hits the spot when paired with various types of grilled sauce. I prefer the original sauce over the sweet or spicy options. And you can't beat a big yellow cup of free ice.
The bbq is okay, but the customer service was amazing. they are patient and friendly. the restaurant and the toilets are nice and clean. I have commanded mine and I was in and out.
I was traveling through the area and stopped in for a meal to take to my hotel for the evening. There was only 1 employee working during the dinner time. That employee deserves a raise for the hussle he was putting in by himself. He was very nice and knew the place needed help because he apologized many times for the wait. When I was finally assisted in taking my order, I noticed a lot of the meats had just been left on the counter, not sure how long they had been out and if there is any issue with it, but didn't make me feel confident in the food. Once I got my order, I stepped over to the drink area, the forks were out and no lids for the bbq cups, and it was a mess. Once I arrived to my hotel and opened my ceasar salad, it was rotten. After all that, I took a few bites before deciding that it wasn't worth the risk of food poisoning to keep eating. I hope this was just a bad day for them, and not the normal.
