**A Mixed Bag at Local Peruvian Gem** This Peruvian restaurant has garnered a mix of praise and criticism from diners. While some guests commend the flavorful dishes and family-friendly service, others lament the inconsistency in food quality, particularly the ceviche served lukewarm. Adding to the experience are unexpected charges, including a mandatory service fee and a credit card usage fee, which have left some patrons feeling disheartened. Despite these issues, many still rave about dishes like lomo saltado and the welcoming atmosphere, suggesting this eatery remains a worthwhile stop for those craving authentic Peruvian flavors in the DMV area.

Was Olivia at Mi Peru a mag?
The best Peruvian food in the area, especially considering the price! I won’t go anywhere else in Montgomery County now. You can’t beat the combination of delicious food and the amazing family that runs the restaurant. Food: 5/5 View all feedback.

What Kyle M dislikes about Mi Peru:
I'm astounded this place has 4 stars. I just had their lomo and it's chewy and tasteless. La lengua is okay I guess. We just threw away the flan so that shows you the level of food at this place. I'm disappointed to say the least. We have good Peruvian places we always go to but this one was close today so thank god we don't live close, never again. View all feedback.

I placed an order of 3 chickens with 3 sides each. At time of pick up I was missing 4 sides of rice . I was charge extra. They only give 1 yellow sauce 1 green sauce for a family meal of 1 chicken. No plates are giving for take out. I spend $85.00 Poor customer service . When I asked for more sauce they informed me I had to pay extra.Sardis will be a better choice.Poor customer service!!!!DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

This is the best Peruvian restaurant in the DMV area! The food is absolutely delicious. It's woman-owned, and the service feels like being welcomed into a friendly family. I give the food a solid 5 out of 5!

I must say, the flavor was quite good—better than many other Peruvian spots I've tried in the area, very close to Barra Brava in quality. The prices were comparable, and I appreciated being able to save about 80 cents by paying in cash. However, they still haven't obtained their liquor license, so unfortunately, there was no option for beer to accompany my ceviche, which is a classic pairing. They do have a variety of sodas and some juices available. I requested my ceviche without cancha (toasted corn), which is why you won't see it in the picture. The reason I'm giving this place three stars is because the sweet potato and corn (choclo) served with the dish were scorching hot, still steaming from the pot. This made the overall dish warm, which unfortunately altered the flavor. Ceviche should be served with cool lime juice, right? I asked the server if I could have a colder version, but she informed me that this was how they serve their ceviche. Really? A dish that is meant to be refreshing ended up lukewarm, with warm leche de tigre and pieces of fish (which were perfectly cut, to be fair) losing their appeal. I might give this place another try in a few months to see if they’ve made improvements, or perhaps just order something else. However, paying $20 (with credit card) for an incomplete ceviche dish feels a bit steep, doesn’t it? I’ve heard good things about the lomo saltado, so maybe I'll try that next time.
