Description

Wolf House Brewing in Cloverdale is a lively craft-brewery and full-service pub with an expansive tap list, standout IPAs and local ciders, plus inventive bar bites from pretzels with beer cheese to shrimp tacos and bacon-wrapped “Twinkies.” Indoor and covered outdoor seating, a welcoming bar presence and wheelchair accessibility make it a convenient stop for families, travelers and beer fans. We heard about this place when they had a tent at the Baconfest in Kelseyville. We decided to stop for lunch on our way home from Santa Rosa, and we can’t wait to come back. The Porky’s Revenge burger was delicious, as per my husband. The Buffalo chicken wrap was the bomb and the fries were perfection.

Ok, I have lived in this area for over three years and I am kicking myself for not taking the time to try these guys out. They posted a dark lager beer on facebook, and I said the next time I'm up that way I want to stop by and try them out. So I stopped by today and the Bartender (Ryan) was super cool. I mean I would go by some other places and get treated like another nobody sometimes, and I would go away just baffled as to why some businesses just don't get how important it is to treat your customers like you want them to come back. This guy just confirmed that theory with me today as someone who gets that theory 100%. . Just a super nice guy with no judgements, just plain ol customer curtesy. For me it's not really the food, it's more how people make you feel. Because if the food's not that great, or if the food is expensive (which is wasn't, it was actually very fair priced and super delicious). I'm still willing to go back just to support the establishment. Wolf House gets in my book. Just good vibes and great people. Thanks for the great experience, and the dark lager was outstanding... Hello, everyone! During my spontaneous long weekend trip to Clearlake in 2023, I made a last-minute decision to explore the area, especially since I had no plans for Labor Day. One thing I really dislike is heavy traffic when traveling, so I prefer to explore local downtowns along the way. Since California is known for its wine and breweries, it seemed like a perfect opportunity. After a challenging 4-mile hike in Armstrong National Forest, my friends and I were quite hungry when we arrived at Wolf House Brewing. I always go for a heavy burger in such situations. We ordered the Porky’s Revenge, a French dip, and I opted for the Fried Chicken Sandwich, also known as the Dirty Bird. Upon seeing "Tri-tip" associated with the French dip, I figured that might be a risky choice, and I assumed "Dirty Bird" indicated a saucy sandwich, which I generally enjoy with fried food. My poor friend really dug into his meal, and I hoped he had a strong jaw for it! The burger was cooked perfectly, balancing meat and fat just right, and the Dirty Bird fried chicken sandwich was juicy. As for the fries, they tasted like they had been double-fried, which is what I consider the ultimate comfort food for a road trip. While I savored each bite of my own meal, my friend struggled with the Tri-tip French dip. Normally, I'd take a bite of what my friends ordered, but I didn't bother in this case. The waitress was kind and attentive, and the seating arrangement was pleasant. However, I do wish she had warned us about the swarm of flies outside before we were seated; they seemed to enjoy my fries as much as I did! In summary, if you're visiting the Russian River, Santa Rosa, or Clearlake, it's worth the extra 30-minute drive to Wolf House Brewing for a well-crafted burger. My friend disagrees with me on this, but I think that's more his fault than anything else! Three weeks after Labor Day weekend, Paul
