Had dinner at The Bunkhouse on the way to The Promise in Glen Rose, and it was a super experience. Twenty-two hour slow smoked brisket with delicious sides. Hand cut French fries too many to eat. The fried okra was the best I've ever eaten. I had a two meat combo, so much I had to bring half of it home for another meal. Family owned with great attention to quality. ok food with outlandish price ordered a 1/4 of ribs and received one rib that had no meat the mac and cheese was cold and hard workers were smoking cigarettes when I first pulled up no one greeted me they were also smoking pot WHILE MAKING MY FOOD!!!! Wasn’t a joint or nothing like that I used to smoke they were smoking carts and coughing all over my food honestly worst experience of my life. View all feedback.
We got their chopped brisket, ham, chicken, sliced brisket, and sausage. Everything was really good.We also got their beans and potato salad and corn nuggets they were great too.I have absolutely no negatives about it. If you haven't tried it in awhile...try it.We liked it all!!

Bunkhouse Barbeque truly made us feel like first-class celebrities. We came into town for a theatre competition, and early in the day, we called and reserved Bunkhouse so we would have lunch during our break. We talked to Jamie on the phone, and this woman seriously deserves to win the lottery. She was extremely hospitable, so much so that they even offered an area in their place for us to practice for our competition! The food was delicious and prepared for us when we got in, as well as a section for us to sit down. Seriously, everything about this place was amazing; I was shocked! Honestly, I'd drive way out of town just to come to this place again. In addition, their jalapeño sausage was some of the best!
