What JOHN KEES doesn't like about Cooley Kill Restaurant And Bar At Van Patten Golf Club:
Had a gift certificate to use so I gave it a try. The French Onion soup was very strange tasting and overloaded with bay leaves. No specials were available to try. The Turkey BLT had a pesto mayo on it which my wife did not like and could not eat.Overpriced for mediocre basic bar food. Thank God our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The word in the community is thatthis restaurant has gone down hill under its n... View all feedback.
Just returned from this restaurant and it was an excellent experience! Our food was delicious and piping hot! Felt bad for our waitress as she was the ONLY waitress working. Another young lady (Amanda) took us to our seat and answered as many questions asshe was allowed as she is not yet an actual waitress. She will be great when she is 18! Beautiful view, great food and friendlyservice. What more can you ask for on a beautiful Saturday evening !
Our first time here! Service is amazing and the food is even better. Pictured is the arancini appetizer, risotto and mozzarella then fried and served with a tomato cream sauce. Decadent is a good word to describe it. We ordered the sirloins and the searwas mmmmm. Grilled asparagus was cooked perfectly I was shocked. Definitely will return and maybe even become members of thegolf course ????
This is my fifth time at Cooley Kill in the past two months. During my last three visits, I ordered the NY Strip with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Today, I decided to try it with the Au Poivre sauce. The service has consistently been excellent. The steak is incredibly tasty, with a nice char on the outside, ample flavor throughout, and cooked to perfection. The prices are also reasonable. The arancini with smoked gouda is equally delicious. I went with a Chardonnay this time; they offer one that's buttery and very enjoyable.
I decided to try this restaurant because I had a gift certificate. Unfortunately, the French Onion soup was quite odd in flavor and had an excessive amount of bay leaves. There were no specials available to sample. My wife ordered the Turkey BLT, which came with a pesto mayo that she found unappetizing and couldn't eat. Overall, the food felt overpriced for what was merely average bar fare. On the plus side, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I've heard from others in the community that this restaurant has declined since the new management took over. I really miss the old Vista, especially their wonderful Monday Pasta Night. It was fantastic!
Thanksgiving dinner was absolutely incredible! There was so much food, and the quantity was perfect. They had everything you could possibly want for Thanksgiving and more! Thank you for making our holiday so delicious and hassle-free!
