I was very pleased with the service at this restaurant. I inquired about specific ingredients in and out of my burger, and they handled it perfectly without any issues. It’s impressive how often orders get mixed up at other places, but not here! The food is consistently fresh and delicious. I would rate it 5/5 for service, 5/5 for food, and 4/5 for atmosphere. Highly recommended! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Samson Fish Seafood:
This seafood platter was highly overrated. The calamari was difficult to eat, and the chips seemed like they had been boiled in cold oil—they were way too soft. On the positive side, the salad was fresh and enjoyable. The rest of the meal was just okay. The setting was nice, and the staff were pleasant. I think I'll stick with Fish on Fire or George's on Loganholme in the future. Even the prawns were tough this time.... View all feedback.
Seafood was very fresh! Battered items came out nice and light and not greasy. You can tell that care was taken into preparing the items. Staff are awesome and owners are super friendly too! Sucks that it’s really far away though.
I'm on vacation from New Zealand and I've had two fantastic meals here. I really enjoyed the snapper; it was fresh, crunchy, and light—just a wonderful dish. The chicken burger was also excellent. I highly recommend this place!
I've read several complaints regarding the staff, but I personally haven't had any negative experiences. I also haven't had a reason to approach them with any issues. While I wouldn't describe the service as exceptional, it's mediocre, which seems to be the norm these days. On the downside: 1) Last night, I wanted to order a burger for each of my children, but at $13.95 each, I found the price to be outrageous. The menu stated that the burgers came with chips, which I didn’t want. When I inquired, I was told that the price remained the same whether or not I wanted the chips. I don't understand why there can't be some flexibility here. It’s not part of their meal deals, so why should I have to pay the same price without chips? This feels unreasonable and somewhat greedy. 2) Parking is another issue. Samson's is situated at Raby Bay Harbour in a dining precinct, but it’s surrounded by apartments, which makes finding parking a challenge. At any time of day, it’s nearly impossible to secure a spot, and at night, your chances drop even further. Even the underground parking is usually full. It’s quite off-putting when you want to quickly grab takeaway, but instead, you find yourself driving around looking for parking or having to park far away and walk back.
However, there are a few downsides. It annoys me that they charge an extra $2 for sauce for the chips when that should be included. Additionally, the restaurant lacks decoration, and the way they announce when your order is ready can be quite irritating. They definitely need a better method for delivering food to customers. The salad is very basic, consisting of just a bit of tomato, some onion, no dressing, and a lot of lettuce. As for the service, the staff are okay, but the food can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to arrive, depending on how busy they are. While I would still visit frequently, I wouldn’t take anyone else there. I hesitate to even call it a restaurant and would prefer to take guests to somewhere nicer, where there isn't any shouting.
Beef Burger and Chips. Soooooo good!<br/ <br/ <br/ 23 Mar, 2015 <br/ <br/ It was quiet the time we went which made it better because it's always packed. I feel like since it was quiet they spent more time on the order which made it even more better. The presentation was alright but the burger and chips itself was SO GOOD!
