They have such a well thought out, unique menu with top-notch choices; really cleverly presented in a select-your-own style with endless possibilities. I think this place is okay but I don't really get the hype. Good, cheap vegetarian tacos. Build you're own kind of the happy dog of tacos (except now I believe there really is a happy dog of tacos in lakewood). Biggest disappointment the margaritas. Seriously disappointing when compared to momocho, lopez, or johnny mango's. View all feedback.
Even though I haven't been back since the vegan visit, I remember that the tacos are absolutely delicious, and the menu is completely customizable
This place has several vegan tacos and a few that can be made vegan, plus it often has a vegan special taco. they can order (and/or substitutes) on existing tacos or build their own. taco shells also available. hard maize, soft grain and flour tortillas are all vegan, like most sauces. when a mistake was made to order my partner, they were quick to fix it. drinks are also quite good.
Good margaritas. Vegan options are marked when they build tacos portabella and a delicious tofu. they even had a manager special vegan taco when I visited. the decor is funny and a local artist has made the murals.
They have a checklist that marks the vegan options.
I appreciate that they have veg options in the menu, but they’re not all that tasty. They’re certainly not bad, but the vegan options seem to be developed by someone who isn’t vegan and relies on the flavors in meat to make the meal. Guac and drinks are good, though and the patio is very nice.
