We stopped in on the way back from Blairsville to get some of their delicious, homemade ice cream cones. Many flavors available and inside they have available fresh pure milk, cheeses and other products as well. Great place to stop for a refreshing , home made ice cream cone on a hot day. What Dylan Corrales doesn't like about Glocrest Dairy Dove Field:
Had a decent time. Unfortunately, we could not touch any cows. This would make sense if it was for the safety of the cows, but the tour guide specifically told me that they never trim their cows hooves, which is a necessary maintenance on these animals for them to remain comfortable and healthy. We had the opportunity to visit the dairy farm for Mountain Fresh Creamery. We have 2 young children under the age of 6. We found this tour to be great for young kids. The staff and tour guide were personable and hospitable. They were all very knowledgeable as well. The room where the tour starts is very well done to show the history of the farm, how cows are milked, and how their farm works. They even have a mock cow for children or other to practice their hand at milking. The only improvement I’d suggest is for them to fix the glass through which you watch the milking take place. The glass is frosty. It was hard to tell if it was moisture on the outside or just worn glass. This made it difficult to see. That said, you are able to get rich up close to the calves and the milking cows. You really get a sense of what goes into the process. Note: sorry, no touching any real animals. After the tour, we had the opportunity to go to the creamery where we were able to sample the milk. We also received a small discount on ice cream. The ice cream is definitely worth the drive over. What a great experience!
On Saturday, May 23, 2020 my family and I drove over an hour one way to experience and purchase their ice cream and other products. Unfortunately, as we drove up we saw that there was a line of customers (some with children) not social distancing and the staff wasn’t either and one had on masks that we could see. People are dying of COVID-19; I personally know of several who were heathy and not elderly. This company doesn’t take the health of their employees or customers seriously. COVID is NOT a hoax. Needless to say we were VERY disappointed on many levels and it was a complete waste of gas and two hours of our time. We won’t go back. ?
What a cool place to visit. You'll see and learn about the cows and the milking process.
We stopped in to the Creamery to check out the little shop have some ice cream. Since we were visiting from out-of-state, we didn't purchase anything at the shop, but once we relocate to the area this summer, we'll be back to try the ground beef, milk, cheese, etc. Outside, we ordered 2 milkshakes....a salted caramel made with chocolate milk a peaches and cream. Both were quite good, though the peach had a more vivid flavor than the salted caramel. They had about 5-6 flavors to choose from.
