Her caring personality and attention to detail were superb. We always use Rick Erwins for special occasions and visiting friends and family. We will be asking for Mei Ling on our next visit.

The only problem I had was that I called and made a reservation for a booth so my wife and I could have at least a little bit of privacy. We had just eloped that day) When we got there I checked in at the host stand and then we went to the bar. We had 7pm reservations. They never even came to the bar to get us. Finally around an hour later, I had to go and ask about our table. The restaurant has gotten busy and there was no booth available. There were several open when we got there. They sat us in the middle of the dining room at a tiny table sandwiched in between two other tables that were already eating. The manager was very professional and offered to pay for our appetizer. The server was very apologetic. As was the rest of the staff. Even though I didn't make a big deal out of it. That was very nice of them but that wasn't the experience I wanted to pay $400 for. Have no problem w the bill. I expected to spend that kind of money. I can't help but feel like it wasn't what I paid for.

The food was phenomenal, but what really made the experience special was our waitress, Mei. Mei’s attentive, timely, and personable service ensured that our night was everything we had hoped for. The manager Eric Holton came to the table and apologized and personally saw to our table and made sure we had an outstanding dinner, which we did. The bread was excellent, but the red snapper didn't meet my expectations, and the shrimp was overcooked. However, the ambiance was beautiful and the service was fantastic—very elegant all around. I would definitely like to return. The hospitality was great!

We made a reservation at Rick Erwin?s Clemson and we are so pleased with our choice! One of our girls had to cancel last minute but called the restaurant to order a bottle of champagne for us. When we arrived, they had the bottle chilled and waiting for us at our table. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for a treat! Every dish we ordered was amazing and perfectly cooked. But what made our experience even better was the service! We had Luke as our server and he was just an absolute doll. He made excellent food and drink suggestions and took such great care of us the entire evening. There was a wedding going on in another part of the restaurant while we were there and we would not have known if we hadn?t seen them going in because it didn?t affect the quality of the food or service at all. This was the best dinner experience we could have asked for to celebrate our bride. We even got to have a quick chat with Rick Erwin! If you?re ever in upstate South Carolina, do yourself a favor and go to this restaurant and ask for Luke! We can?t wait to come back!
