Bobby's Bistro Wine - Clearwater Beach

My wife and I visited the restaurant last night, but we were not particularly impressed. I had the shrimp, which was just average. The chowder, however, was good. My wife ordered the pork chop, and it too was merely average. I wouldn't rate it five stars. It's possible that the restaurant was out of season and the usual chef was absent. On the plus side, they do have a great wine list.

Bobby's is consistently excellent. It's a laid-back and relaxing spot to eat on Clearwater Beach. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. While it may not be the ideal place for kids, I'd still rate it well above five stars.

Disappointing experience. I arrived with high expectations based on strong recommendations. The restaurant has potential, but there are problems with the execution. The signature side dish, Bistro Potatoes, was ice cold in the middle and remained that way even after being sent back to the kitchen. On a positive note, they have an excellent wine list shared with their partner restaurant, and the atmosphere is delightful.

We were a party of 8. Our waiter was very good. Although I'm speaking only for myself, the much talked about potatoes were hard and dry. The burger was good. the garlic shrimp seemed gritty, but perhaps I had a piece on my bread plate and perhaps itwas a crumb. Chicken Picatta looked small.

Beautiful fine dining experience, the service was outstanding, the food was fresh and full of flavor. And the wine menu!! Wow! The owners have a very impressive cellular and a winery. Sits on the main strip, across from the beach. Eat a great meal thenhit up one of the many bars and shops.
