What User dislikes about Howard's Grotto:
I have not eaten here before and came after reading the reviews. I was excited at the amount of seafood and steak options I saw even if they were on the pricey side. I ordered a steak medium rare and got a well done steak. They did remake it but the new one while more pink/red was not what I consider medium rare. Oh my goodness, the Christmas prime rib at this restaurant is amazing! We both had the double cut and the flavor was excellent. It was incredibly tender and I really hope this restaurant stays open. Fun fact: you could have used a butter knife to cut through the prime rib. This is the only restaurant around that serves a decent dinner. We also tried the deep fried shrimp, but usually we stick to the double cut prime rib. They have a full bar, salad bar, and serve lunch and dinner. It's the best prime rib in Lake County, except for my wife Annitta's, who used to work at Lakeshore Inn for fourteen years and learned the cook's secret prime rib recipe. I have never tasted better prime rib, and I have tried a lot.

The food is decent, but the service is outstanding. The staff at this restaurant are some of the friendliest people I have encountered since moving to Lake County. It's hard to choose the nicest among them, as everyone I have met here has been kind and welcoming.

I ordered a pizza and loaded French fries. The waiter told me the restaurant doesn't carry that so he personally went and got it from stone fire pizza like 20 minutes away really chill dude I smoke a joint with him after dinner too Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Cream of Broccoli Soup of the Day, Hawaiian Omelet
