We had an outstanding experience. The restaurant is pricey but well worth it. The chef creates innovative dishes and came out to speak with us when we had questions. Our server, Sam, was excellent and well-informed. All in all a wonderful evening. View all feedback.
The food and service at this restaurant were top notch. The oysters are highly recommended. The drinks were well made and the entrees were spot on. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ended up leaving my reading glasses there and the restaurant manager shipped them to me. There aren't many places like this anymore. Go there!
Upscale food with very approachable staff. Started with a petite seafood tower that was perfect for 3-4. Ample menu choices. The non alcohol drinks were a pleasant surprise and unexpected to see Lyre products served! Will return again to have the freshest seafood in the Lou.
Aaron was a very vibrant and amazing waiter. His service was top-notch. They greeted us at the door, and we got there a little before they officially opened and the satbus right away. The food was perfect . They oysters were sweet. The salmon and branzino were also delicious. We will have to go back because there were a few other items we wanted to try.
Some friends of mine wanted to come to town for a concert and wanted to give 801 Fish a try. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have personally ever had. Our waiter was Aaron and when I say we were in good hands, I thought Allstate was hosting our evening. Aaron knew the menu from front to back, had amazing recommendations from drinks to oysters, entrees and everything in between. The Maitre' D Mario made sure to come by and check on us throughout the meal. He was sharply dressed and full of compliments to my guests and myself. I am very impressed with absolutely everything and will most definitely look forward to my next experience here. Bravo!
Want to like 801 Fish since it is unique in the St. Louis area. Have reasonable expectations for restaurants with excellent food and wine offerings. This is the second visit for which the wine on list did not match what was delivered to the table. We were told that they were the same, even though the listing was different than the bottle's label. The type of wine was the same, but the wine delivered was clearly a substitute. Without a careful reading, the substitute would have been served. We're not wine collectors or snobs. This is just an observation of a repetitive issue on two visits.
