The owner, Angie, was the sweetest and most refreshing part of our entire trip to Georgia! We stopped by for some local coffee before heading out to hike Tallulah Gorge. She gave us great hiking suggestions, helped us with our coffee orders, and even shared some of her own stories! The place should really be named after her since she embodies the spirit of the café. She set the perfect tone for the last day of our gi... View all feedback.
What Zack Tegel dislikes about Java Joe's Bistro:
Wow, $4 for a cup of tasteless muddy water? After having decent coffee at other local coffee shops, I will not be back here. The price was outrageous. The coffee was worse than a gas station. Nice atmosphere, it is to bad the price and product were disappointing. View all feedback.
This is the best coffee shop in the entire area. It has a wonderful atmosphere, along with excellent coffee and delicious pastries.
The coffee was excellent, and the service was outstanding. The barista was very helpful with local recommendations since it was our first time in Clarkesville.
Cute little coffee shop with super comfy chairs and really tasty coffee with good prices. Driving through the back roads of Georgia I'm glad I'm wasnt stuck with Starbucks
While the atmosphere is chill and most of the baristas are beyond nice, the owner, who has become ubiquitous lately, is terse to patrons and rude to people who haven 't yet spent money. This extends to begrudgingly giving cold glasses of water during the Summer so that a patron can cool down before having a hot drink, speaking ill of certain patrons (even when they are in the coffee shop, and periodically checking the back porch for trespassers. To her, until you purchase something, you don 't deserve her attention; she doesn 't make the effort to be hospitable until at least after the first drink, and even then, only for so long (by her own admission. Notwithstanding her, however, the coffee shop is great. The others who work there are as friendly as can be, and the service is usually prompt and flawless. They make you feel like a regular quickly, as they will have your usual memorized after only a few visits. Lastly, the coffee shop is conveniently located within easy walking distance of five pokestops and two Gyms, for those who are interested. Admittedly, this would be a four-star review if the problem were only with one of the part-time baristas, as the issue would likely be resolved before too long. However, since the owner has been more and more present lately and is unlikely to leave, the customer service problem is more serious than it would otherwise be. The vibe that she gives off is such that I do not patronize the shop while she is watching it, although I happily do when anyone else is on shift.
