This place was just amazing The location is awesome Our tiny cabin even accommodated our pontoon Everyone on staff is wonderful and the fetch field was great to keep the Border Collies happy with Frisbee Our cabin was the perfect size for a lowmaintenance fun weekend Cool restaurants and breweries nearby too but honestly the campground has everything you need
While I previously praised Bleu Canoe restaurant so highly that we dined there every night of our stay, I want to focus on the campground this time. We stayed in the charming Maple tiny house, and it was absolutely delightful! I must commend the cleanliness; I’m very particular about hygiene, and everything surpassed my expectations. Most of the tiny homes are relatively new, only a couple of years old, and the renovated original fish cabins are in impeccable condition. I had stayed in one of those cabins back in high school, and the renovations are truly impressive. Breakfast was included and offered a basket of fresh fruit (navel oranges), packets of oatmeal and grits, boxes of assorted cereals, and several granola bars. The mini-fridge came stocked with small bottles of milk and orange juice. Each house features a kitchenette and a full bathroom, plus an outdoor fire pit, with the option to purchase firewood at a very reasonable price. Comfortable chairs and a picnic table completed the glamping experience. My husband and I took full advantage of our stay by hiking the three-mile loop that begins right from our cabin and exploring the beautiful waterfall trails in the Clarkesville area. Since the campground is somewhat secluded, Wi-Fi is only available near the main area by the restaurant, but we appreciated the opportunity to escape daily life and enjoy nature in comfort. A fun fact: I was excited to see that the old football field is still intact. The owner mentioned that nature had taken it over, so he cleared it back to its original dimensions, except for a grove of trees where he plans to set up hammocks for guests. I can’t wait to return in the summer to relax in that lovely spot! The field is now called the star-gazing field, and one clear night, we stepped outside and were captivated by the countless stars visible in the sky. There are also corn hole games available in what used to be the old swimming pool area, which has been transformed into a beautiful patio section with fire pits for evening gatherings—though we mostly had rain during our visit, so we didn’t get to enjoy these activities. Returning to this place was a nostalgic joy, and I’m thrilled to see it transformed into a destination where my family and I can reconnect with nature. I loved it in high school for band camp, and I adore it now as a glamping retreat!
