The name has changed and this is now Cousin Basils. We were in Cooks forest and a local recommended Cousin Basils and OMG was it great!! The food is phenomenal! The pizza is so so good, fresh crust. Great homemade dressings for the salad. Fries were great. You will not be sorry coming here. It's so good and very cute rustic simple decor. Make sure you stop and try the food!! The other reviews in cooks forest are not... View all feedback.
What Lynne S doesn't like about Iron Mountain Grille:
The waitress was friendly and attentive, which was a positive aspect of the experience. However, the food was only mediocre. I found the prices to be quite high and the menu somewhat misleading. I ordered a pound of plain wings, priced at $13.95, which seemed reasonable for 6-7 wings. Unfortunately, what I received were 6-7 overcooked wing dings with very little meat on them, and this was just for the wings—no sides... View all feedback.
I always enjoy my visits to Iron Mountain Grille, no matter what day or time I go. I love introducing newcomers to this place and seeing if they fall in love with it as quickly as I did. Before I dive into the food, I have to mention how much I appreciate the thick, square cushions on their bar stools—they're incredibly comfortable! I love sitting at the bar and meeting new people; everyone is always so friendly. This time, I even played some tunes on the jukebox, which has a nice selection. I was excited to try the new wing flavors. The Sweet Ginger wings were absolutely incredible and had the zing I'm always searching for—a flavor I had never experienced before! Kudos to Iron Mountain Grille for such a unique offering. The Chipotle BBQ wings were also a hit with my taste buds—they had both the heat and flavor I crave. Honestly, BBQ wings are usually my least favorite since they often just taste like standard wing sauce, but these had a welcome kick. They offer whole wings and smaller sizes, so be sure to order what you prefer. I ordered the hot pepper cheese balls to share. They were good and fun to snack on, but I’d suggest looking for something more substantial if you want to fill up. They were tasty but pretty basic. I couldn’t pass up the fresh-cut fries this time; I ordered a side, which to me seemed a bit small for sharing. Although they’re large in size, I could have easily eaten two portions. They are truly impressive fries. My friends also enjoyed the food quality and thanked me for bringing them along! This bar/restaurant has a great rustic yet modern vibe. I love the décor inside—it's charming without being overdone. I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while. In the past, I’ve tried the mountain burger, steak hoagie, and their pizza, all of which were fantastic. Each visit seems to surpass the last. During my most recent trip, I tried the boneless wings with New York flavor. This sauce has a hot, tangy buffalo taste, more akin to a medium hot sauce. The amount of meat on these wings was impressive, perfectly shaped—finally! And the fresh-cut fries? They are heavenly! If you're a fry lover, you’ll definitely enjoy them. They also offer sweet potato fries, but I prefer the classic. As a devoted fry lover, I’ve been searching high and low for fresh-cut fries, and I've finally found them! It’s disappointing how many restaurants serve frozen fries, but you can always tell, can't you? The menu here is extensive, offering something for everyone, which I adore. My friend and I snagged seats at the bar with comfortable cushy stools. Our bartender, Rose, was excellent—friendly and quick with answers to our questions. I enjoy chatting with other patrons; everyone is always so welcoming. There are plenty of TVs for sports events, and the overall atmosphere is just great. The restrooms were very clean and spacious! I plan to visit every time I head to our family cabin in Corsica, which isn’t far from Sigel. Iron Mountain is charming and a must-see if you're in the area—you won’t regret it! Easily five stars… Cheers to Iron Mountain Grille!
The food and service were mediocre—I'd describe the entire experience as just okay. In my opinion, it isn't worth the trip. While it's not terrible, there's definitely room for improvement considering the prices.
The waitress was friendly and attentive, which was a positive aspect of the experience. However, the food was only mediocre. I found the prices to be quite high and the menu somewhat misleading. I ordered a pound of plain wings, priced at $13.95, which seemed reasonable for 6-7 wings. I left feeling disappointed and unlikely to return anytime soon.
My husband and I stopped here on our way to the Cook Forest State Park, and we grabbed a quick lunch. The wait staff was excellent super nice, attentive, and made good recommendations. Our food was tasty and actually better than we expected for just a random grill near our hotel. Pricing was maybe a little high, but we had such a hard time finding anywhere to get good food in the area that I think it's worth it.
I was really disappointed in the steak cheese sandwich that I ordered. Mostly all bread and a few chunks of steaks with an over abundance of onions. I paid $10 for this sandwich. I would have been better off eating at sheetz or Subway. The best feature of the restaurant was the outdoor seating. I won't be coming back. Very disappointed
