It was our last day in Clarenville and we were sorely in need of some authentic home-made food. We found this at The Curtain Call Cafe. We ordered the soup and delicious quiche and topped it off with creme caramel and rustic apple pie. We bought some of the freshly baked breads to take along on our road trip the next day. Nice staff and they gave us some maps of the area. An excellent final curtain call for us indeed... View all feedback.
What Nathaniel Lindgren doesn't like about The Curtain Call Cafe:
No greeting upon entering, waited for several minutes and still got ignored. Then we sat ourselves, only yet again to be ignored...no greeting no menu! After about five minutes, I flagged the server down to get a menu.Disappointed that no mains on the lunch menu were vegetarian, so ordered one of the meat sandwiches without the meat. The sandwich turned out to be good! The cafe is in the basement of an old church. there... View all feedback.
We were staying in clarenville newfoundland. We found this restaurant on trip advisor. It's located in the basement of a church 10 minutes from town. WOW - food was great. We had the lasagna, risotto, soup, vegetarian pasta, lemon cream chicken , and a chocolate cake for dessert. Everybody loved it. They have a unique style here, and you won't be disappointed.
So happy we drove a few k off the main highway to try out the curtain call! Very impressive food and ambiance. Friendly owner / sheff who operates the cafe to fund his theater company in the charming church above. Quality ingredients, presentation, and lots of flavor.
The atmosphere was beautiful and intimate, the service was amazing and the food was to die for. After we ate, I had to think about other meals I've had in this province and I strongly believe my meal here was the best. Don't waste your time looking for a restaurant in Clarenville, this is the spot! We'll be back for sure!
Such a super special place that you should definitely try! It's in the basement of an old church in Milton just outside of Clerenville. The setup is very cozy and has that local traditional unique feel attached to it. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the very friendly and accommodating owner Geoff Adams, who makes and serves the food himself. The food was way beyond expectations, fresh and extremely delicious, especially the sandwiches! I drove 2 hours from St. John's to have lunch there and it was worth the drive!
