What Mark Y doesn't like about Highlander A British Pub:
I was in town and was looking for a good gastropub. The place is below street level. The bar was filled with regulars. The people were friendly. Bartender didn’t pay much attention to me compared to the regulars. Food was limited to a shepards pie (no menu — that’s what the bartender said) which was good. Prices are excellent. Perfect place for locals and tourists. There is something going on almost every night. The beer is always cold and the bartenders are friendly!
The place is nice for a small pub. Food was decent. Bar staff needs serious training. Waiting 30 minutes for a non draft beer when place is not even at capacity is RIDICULOUS!!!
First time ever going to the Highlander and I loved it! The atmosphere is very inviting, the low ceiling, neon lights, large fireplace, etc makes for a welcoming environment. The bartender was extremely kind and made us feel welcome. The brews were well poured and $5 a pop. A refreshing price for some of the previous breweries we have been to in the downtown Augusta area. I would love to go back, and would recommend the Highlander for a relaxing time with some good brews.
