El Paraiso Mexican - Clarendon County

I drive past this restaurant often. Finally decided to grab a bite. I dropped in around 1pm hoping to miss the lunch rush. Quiet atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was clean and the service was fast. Ordered a combination plate for $9.99 and wasn’t disappointed. Food was fresh and hot, sweet tea was delicious, and the cheese dip was satisfying. I would’ve had photos of the food but the plate was clean before that happened so take my word for it

Service was excellent and restaurant was clean. Food really lacked any flavor (except the shrimp, excellent shrimp). Queso was very watery and bland as well.

No seasonings on food, food was lukewarm!!! 1st and last time eating here

I really want to love this place. Some of the food is fantastic, but on two visits, some things did not turn out well. Thus, I have dropped my rating to a 3 star. Hirachata is a common Hispanic rice based drink, sweet and cinnamony. The Arroz con Pollo was magnificent, and was the star of my first visit. We went there for lunch and it was horrible. Ask for cheese on side was given a bowl of cold shredded cheese. The steak was tougher than faux leather. I have eaten there before but this was the worse. Too expensive for lunch special.
