I enjoy this little gem in Claremont Village. Today was a glass of Malbec and the Artichoke Caper Flatbread. Did not disappoint! Sometime service can be a little slow but you know it is nice to get away from the hassle of your busy life. Wednesday is 1/2 price wine, FYI. Meet some friend or dine here alone both are wonderful experiences. Also have a charming gift shop. View all feedback.
What Jim T doesn't like about We Olive Wine:
First time here. Great ratings on Yelp. Sorry, not impressed at all. The wine bar had a pretty limited menu, half of which they were out of. Service was, frankly, not great. They screwed up our order. Someone came and asked if we would like another glass of wine. We said, no, but we would like our food... . A salad and an appetizer. 30 minutes from the time we ordered. We canceled the salad. The Stuffed Peppadews wer... View all feedback.
Sadly this place is closing for good on 1/28/23. I had a gift certificate so I made a quick visit today and decided to do wine tasting instead of shopping/purchasing from the retail side. The store front is tiny and very deceiving because the entire shop is actually much deeper--they have a kitchen, tasting/dining area, and a back patio. The menu had some inviting options that would pair well with wine--olive, bread, cheese, charcuterie, etc. I wasn't really hungry, but I can always make room for bread or olives so that's what I ordered. I also wanted to do a wine tasting, but the server seemed bothered by that and said some of the wines would probably be unavailable and they could only pour from bottles that were already opened. That seemed strange to me given that they are operating as a wine bar. And there's a very easy solution called Coravin that will allow you to pour just what you need and preserve the rest. Anyway, I suggested she tell me what bottles were open and then I would make my selection. White or Red? Well, why not both?! Come on now! At least try to make your last two weekends big sales! I ultimately chose a sparkling, a sauvignon blanc, a Zinfandel and a red blend. Another server who seemed less annoyed with me took over. When she brought out the wines, no explanation was given, but I figured out that the two glasses that were numbered corresponded to the numbers of the wines on the menu, and then the two unnumbered glasses were the other two wines. The olives and bread were also served, and wow, even if the service wasn't so great, they had me at the bread! I really enjoyed that perfectly toasted bread with olive oil and vinegar as well as the olives. And the wine was pretty good too. It's a shame that there was so much lacking with the presentation. However, given that they are shutting down very soon, it may just be that they are over it. This was my first and last visit, but not by choice. I would come back again if they weren't going out of business. And as a souvenir of our short time together, I bought a bottle of the red blend wine I tasted by Carol Shelton. She makes good stuff! Good bye We Olive. We could have been good friends.
Great customer service with a good selection of wine, olive oil vinegar.
Quaint place with good olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Had some good samples of wine to go with. Such a nice place. Totally recommend.

Excellent little wine bar and the food was an excellent pairing.
