Was Anonym at Mode a mag?
We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant in Clane and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were very friendly. We appreciated that they checked for Covid passes upon entry. Our meal was top-notch from start to finish. We started with some delicious tapas, which we all agreed were exceptional. Our main courses were also excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed my perfectly cooked st... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Mode:
Stopped by while waiting for my mother’s eye surgery nearby at UPMC. Had a few Guinness beers in the beer garden—creamy, rated 7.8—and some food on a beautiful day. The staff were excellent, and it was around 3 pm on a Saturday. The only downside was the sandwich; it was supposed to be served on bloomer bread but came on a regular Aldi pan bread instead. Amazing experience at Mode Tapas! I had the burger and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The coffee was just as great, rich and smooth, exactly the way I like it. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
A Hidden Gem for Spanish Italian Cuisine This is our third time dining at this wonderful Spanish and Italian restaurant, and it never disappoints. The ambience is warm and peaceful, with tasteful decor and a quiet atmosphere that makes for a relaxing meal. The staff are always friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming vibe. The Italian dishes are available all day and are consistently delicious, while the Spanish menu — served after 5 PM — offers flavorful tapas and traditional specialties. We’ll definitely be coming back again!
My partner and I decided to try the special Valentine's Day set menu at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The menu offered a variety of options to choose from. We started with the goat cheese tartlet, which was light and delicious. For our main course, we both chose the 10oz. Ribeye steak cooked to a perfect medium rare. The steak was of high quality and came with chunky chips for my partner and sweet potato fries for me, both cooked perfectly. The side of mushrooms with onions had a unique hint of curry that surprisingly complemented the dish, along with a light salad. The portion sizes for the main courses were generous, unlike some other restaurants. We enjoyed a bottle of house red wine to go with our meal. For dessert, we were treated to a selection of mouthwatering chocolate desserts. The staff were attentive and friendly, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. We had a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening out.

We have been to this restaurant a few times when it was known by a different name, but it didn't impress us much. However, we have visited twice since it rebranded as MODE and both times were excellent. Whether it's lunch or dinner, the atmosphere is great, the staff is very attentive and professional. The food is fantastic with a diverse range of options that are all delicious from the appetizers to the desserts. There is also pleasant background music playing. The drink selection comes from the pub, so there is a good variety available. MODE is definitely a place that we will be coming back to.
Our time at your restaurant was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was friendly. Our family, consisting of 2 adults and 3 kids, had a fantastic dinner. The kids especially enjoyed the ice cream, saying it was the best they've ever had. The green curry and Peking duck were also incredible. Thank you for a great meal!
Amazing! The staff is extremely friendly and professional, and the food is outstanding. I will definitely return and bring my friends next time. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday meal! Best wishes to everyone at the restaurant.
MODE exceeded all our expectations. The four of us were served exceptional food and drinks at very affordable prices. Even the pickiest among us left satisfied. We will definitely be returning. Delicious!

Today my family and I visited Mode, but unfortunately the carvery was already finished so we had to settle for tapas. I typically enjoy Spanish tapas, but what we were served was a disappointment and far from authentic. The prawn Gambas were freezing cold and made me feel sick. The patatas bravas were drowned in Frank's hot sauce from a bottle, and nothing seemed fresh or freshly made. My daughter's spaghetti Bolognese was bland as well. For dessert, we were served rock hard profiteroles and a stale brownie.
No real effort to make this authentic tapas ... No olives or bread presented to the table when seated The garlic prawn dish gambas pil pil it 's called in Spain was ok but luke warm when arrived at the table. The menu says it comes with a baguette but no baguette was served. When this was brought to the attention of the waitress she looked at me like I had two heads and didn 't seem to know that this was included. About 8 minutes later she returned with 2 extremely thin toasted slices from a baguette so hard that you could not dip into the sauce of what remained of the dish. I pointed this out to my dining companion and he asked for a few more slices of this bread by which time all our other food had been consumed. The waitress returned this time with about 6 or 7 of the same extremely thin toasted slices of bread (amounting to about a quarter of a full french baguette). There was only this dry bread....no olive oil or balsamic vinegar on the table. Earlier we had asked for vinegar only to be told that due to Covid there could not be bottles on the table. We asked for sachets but they had none. When presented with the bill, it had 2 x spanish toasts for €10 on it. When we confronted the waitress she said it was a mistake, it should only be 1 x spanish toast at €5. The total amount of bread they served on the night would not amount to half a baguette. We spoke with a manager but in the end we agreed to pay the €5. I asked him what was spanish about the bit of bread? We want to support local businesses and the Irish economy but restaurants shouldn 't use Covid as an excuse for servers who don 't smile and hardly listen and have no condiments or dips. Wine was €7 a glass so they were making enough profit. €5 for the bread and the small amount that was presented dry with no oil etc. was a disgrace. It had said that the prawn dish included a baguette in the price. If a Spanish tourist experienced this it would be embarrasing.
I dined at Mode before COVID-19 and had a wonderful experience, but this recent visit was disappointing. The staff seemed uninterested and unwelcoming. The food lacked freshness and tasted reheated, and the dessert was only partially defrosted. Our reservation was lost, and although we were given a table, we were rushed to leave quickly because they supposedly needed it for another party—yet no one else arrived. As a resident of Clane who had recommended this restaurant, I’m embarrassed by the poor service. While the pandemic may have affected operations, it’s no excuse for such a drop in standards. Truly a shame.
First, don’t rely on the online menu, as it may not reflect what’s actually available at the restaurant. I booked a table for 9:45 PM through their online system 10 days in advance, but they called on the day to say they don’t accept reservations for that time. We arrived for our 9 PM booking and placed our order. The service was slow—only one starter arrived at first, with the second coming after a 10-minute wait. When we tried to order drinks, the waitress said she was only handling food orders and told us to use a button on the table to request drinks, but it didn’t work. Because the kitchen was closing soon, we had little time to order dessert and chose a cocktail instead. Although the waitress initially refused to take our drink order, she later brought the cocktail with the bill, saying it was our last drink since we had exceeded our time. We still had time left on our reservation but were hurried out. Additionally, we were overcharged for our drinks. While the food and drinks were good, the poor service significantly impacted our overall experience.
We arrived at Mode Tapas for dinner at 7pm, only to discover that our reservation hadn’t been recorded. The waitress was neither apologetic nor friendly, and came across as rude. She said we could have a table but had to leave by 8:30. Our tapas arrived in under 10 minutes, but most of the dishes were lukewarm and lacked freshness. The nachos were barely warm, the brie sticks were cold, and the pork belly was disappointing. The dessert was only partially thawed. While the wine and coffee were acceptable, overall, we were very dissatisfied with our experience. The menu was much more limited than what was advertised online. This will be our first and last visit to Mode; we will not be returning.

Very nice experience—we were the very first customers. The decor is lovely, the staff are friendly, and the food was fantastic.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Mode. It was Mother’s Day, and our group of 12 gathered to celebrate a combined baby shower for my niece. The food was exceptional, and the staff was incredibly attentive. We will certainly return.
A charming hidden gem in Clane. The food is outstanding and the service is exceptional. You can enter the restaurant either through the pub on the main street or from the back.
Very nice .we were just the first customers. beautiful decoration and beautiful staff . eating was fab .
My friend and I dined at this restaurant on a Friday night. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The decor is a bit plain, but it serves its purpose. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you receive. The Heineken beer was great. The food was exceptional! I ordered the surf and turf medallions with chili prawns, which were perfectly cooked and delicious. My partner had the filet mignon cooked exactly as requested, hot, and tasty. It was so good that we would return just for that steak! Overall, a well-done dining experience.
