Quite an old-fashioned establishment, but really rather charming in it's quaint way, with spectacular views across the valley. Service and food both excellent. We both had fish – my wife had swordfish with some delicious grilled vegetables, peppers, aubergines, courgettes, and I had grilled mixed seafood, which included swordfish, langoustine, large shrimp and squid, together with the same assortment of grilled vegetables, all quite delicious. For dessert, a blueberry tart and coffee semifredo, both excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly, especially the young lady who listed verbally the extensive range of “i dolci”, from memory and in perfect English!

My friends recently got married in the small village of Civezza and had the wedding reception at Le Cinque Torri. The entire experience was magical and if anyone is ever thinking about getting married abroad I would definitely consider this place Civezza is beautifully picturesque surrounded by rolling hills and old stone houses with narrow, cobbled walkways utterly romantic and perfect for those wedding snaps straight out of a film! Before I get onto the food at this restaurant, I have to say something about the village and its people. The village is tiny with only 400 inhabitants, 1 bar in the main small piazza and 2 small shops to buy essentials. Because of the location being in the mountains, hills are very steep so a car is a good idea the price you pay for beauty. There were approximately 60 people at this wedding, and we were all able to stay in accommodation in and around the village, particularly around the bar area. The villagers were nothing short of hospitable, including those that worked at the bar and the shops as well as the Church and wow what a beautiful church it was. As for Le Cinque Torri I had the best mussel dish I have ever tasted in my life Cozze alla Diavola (Mussels in a tomato, basil and chilli sauce) they were incredible and like nothing i have tasted before. I had them on the day of the wedding and liked them so much I went back a couple of nights later and ordered them again! The staff were incredibly friendly, and some of them even spoke English. The restaurant is just 1 minutes walk from the bar in the piazza so perfect after an aperatif in the evening or great for a lunch as the menu lends itself to pizzas and light dishes as well as the standard 5 course Italian affair! Everything if fresh and made with local produce with bags and bags of flavour! The house wine was also scrummy you'd expect nothing less in Italy! We had the most wonderful time! This village and restaurant is defninitely worth a visit if you're holidaying in Genoa or San Lorenzo or any neighbouring towns/villages.
