The service and food was good but BEWARE, the mayonnaise is in yellow squeeze bottles instead of traditional white bottles. Now my burger is costed in mayonnaise when all I wanted was delicious mustard. This should be a crime. Honestly who puts mayo in a yellow jar? View all feedback.
What Lisa H doesn't like about Oleaje Sereno:
I ordered a green salad and seafood soup (a common seafood chowder in white sauce). There weren’t any whole pieces of fish in the soup, which is what I’m used to. I think local, fried dishes are more popular and enjoyable here. Mine certainly was not. The restaurant overlooks a dock where there’s crocodiles. We did not stay here. Just waited for our boat to Drake bay, but service seems OK.
The owner here is so nice! He was very helpful to us.We arrived in Sierpe by taxi around 9pm.We had no reservation but he gave us a room for $50 and breakfast was included.The room was comfortable and the breakfast was so,so good.It consisted of toast, ham,eggs,beans and rice, orange juice, and coffee.
I loved this little place. After a 6 hour car ride, nothing is better than a good Costa Rican meal and a cold room. I was super happy with the service and the amenities for the price. Food is a tiny bit pricy, but it’s also kind of isolated so you know it’s give and take.

The rooms are clean and basic. Wifi worked well. Beds were comfortable and A/C worked well. There was hot water in the shower. The breakfast was good in the morning. The coffee in Costa Rica is excellent. The fruit is sooooo good. There is lots of action (around 8:00am) at the hotel as people come to get on their boats for tours at the dock right beside the hotel. The staff were very helpful with luggage. They even stored some of our food in their fridge overnight. They were attentive and served breakfast efficiently.
