Despite some reviews noting that the menu may not be as extensive or exciting as some would hope, overall, diners have found the food to be well-prepared and enjoyable. The restaurant's history as a celebrity hotspot adds to its charm, although some may find the lack of change in both menu and decor to be either endearing or outdated. The service at Langan's is consistently praised, with staff being attentive and professional. Overall, Langan's Brasserie seems to offer a pleasant dining experience for those looking for a taste of London's culinary history.
Visit the long brasserie, Saturday, 14 november 2009. we were in the long 's brasserie about 20 times in the last 10-12 years and always had great meals and good service. but our visit on Saturday, the 14th november was very disappointing. we went to the restaurant at 16.00 a.m. the starters were average, overpriced, but only about acceptable. but the main meal was terrible. our first choice for the main meal was not available, we were told that they can only order later in the evening, not sure why? So we both went with our second choice, which was the roast beef, we think of the remembrance of what was under the Saturday special . it was £19 per head and it consisted of...read more
Time travel. Friday afternoon and I should have booked a table tonight. I quickly discover that there is no chance to get to the Ivy/Wolseley/Sheekeys/Scots etc., unless we want to eat six or ten thirty. I'm flying for inspiration. I know longans. it was london's glamorous most restorative in the 70s and early 80s, and I think someone said they were there a few years ago and it made a comeback or something. as soon as they are in the door, it brings back the smell of an ozean of frying butter a quarter of a century. the (very efficient) waiting staff has a average age of 60ish, which...read more
Langan 's Brasserie is something of a London restaurant legend. Now coming up on its 36th year, it opened as a partnership between Irish entrepreneur Peter Langan and the actor Michael Caine which was enough in itself to draw in the celebrity crowd and Langan 's was one of the places to eat in the eighties. Langan is now dead and Michael Caine sold up, but Langan 's continues on unabashed, its website still claiming that it 'remains one of London 's top eateries to be seen in for Celebrities, business people and Joe public alike '. An almost stubborn unwillingness on the part of Langan 's to change will either endear this restaurant to your heart or ensure a hasty retreat in the other...read more
As always the best Brasserie in London. Lunch with my old school pal a delight and the Rhubarb Crumble with Ginger Ice Cream spectacular taste. work came a poor second the this meal!!
Langan's is an elegant London restaurant with a really nice atmosphere but a menu that I wouldn't travel far for. Overall, coming to Langan's is a nice experience. The restaurant is elegant and the service is really great. They've called themselves a brasserie; however, I thought that the menu was more British than typical brasserie food. Although the food was made quite well, I felt that the menu was really not extensive and we had very few choices, all of which we're quite similar.
