Black Shack Burger - City of New York

Their burgers are incredible—truly mouthwatering. I'm not typically a fan of burgers, but I tried the Turkey Western burger, and I was pleasantly surprised. Many places serve turkey burgers that are often dry and bland, but this one was packed with flavor in every bite and had a delightful spicy kick that I really enjoyed. The fries were good too—not extraordinary, but they were crispy, which I appreciated. I highly recommend this restaurant; you definitely won’t be disappointed!

The Cajun fries were fantastic if you enjoy a bit of spice—well-seasoned and crispy! The Oaxaca burger was decent but not extraordinary for nearly $10. If you're just having the burger, you might find yourself a little hungry since the patties are on the smaller side. However, they do have Bosco chocolate soda on tap, which was a unique and tasty surprise. I would definitely consider returning for the fries and the great beer prices.

A great spot for burgers. The decor has a somewhat vintage feel that might come across as a bit dreary, but the burgers are incredibly tasty and fairly priced. Be sure to try one of their excellent milkshakes or grab a can of beer to enjoy with your meal. I even ordered takeout along with a can of beer for the journey (not sure if that's allowed, though). The fries are also quite good. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive.

Happy Hour is from Monday to Friday, from 3 to 7pm. At that time you can get $1 off beers a special menu too. Came in one Monday night, the place was pretty quiet. Ordered the steakhouse burger which came garlic creamed spinach, fried onion, and horseradish sauce) and an order of french fries $2.50). Everything was delicious! The fries were crispy and perfectly salted and the burger topping worked well with the beef patty.

Great local burger joint in Midtown. Highly recommend the Oaxaca Burger, cajun fries, and IPA. Outstanding combination. Service is great. Fitting for New York, the solid service comes with a free side of occasional angst. I've been many times and will be back many more.
