This is truly a little jewel. Clare is the kindest and welcoming person, her cakes are just amazing. The Tea Room itself is lovely, well decorated, with a little, separated room to stay even quieter. The prices are absolutely affordable and amazing for the quality of food and drink. I think it deserves to be visited, and more than once. View all feedback.
What Deb C doesn't like about Willow Bough:
Thought we would support local business not the usual chain coffee shop but Wow how expensive £10.10 for a small coffee, lemonade and 2 extremely small bite size plain muffins. Lovely helpful friendly staff we were the only 2 people in the tea room. Just too expensive I'm afraid! View all feedback.
Really friendly tea room, enjoyed the cake very much, and loved the old mis-matched china. Will go back with family.
I went with some friends last Friday and had amazing fresh scones with cream and jam. We also had carrot cake which was moist and tasty! It's quite small so it's easy to have a nice conversation and the owner served us. She was really nice too
In a world of fast food and faceless corporate behemoths, thankfully places like Willow Bough still exist. Friendly, cheery, cosy, welcoming, relaxed and with superb teas served in authentic china cups, with unpretentious but delicious cakes. If only there were more places like Willow Bough and fewer places like Starbucks. Use it or lose it, as they say! :
There was a photographer in store taking pictures of a cake. A large group had just last so it was busy and chaotic. A lady who I assumed was the owner cleared and cleaned a table quickly. The waitress came for our order and we asked for the lunch special, sandwich, cake and pot of tea. The waitress didn't know what the offer was which I found surprising as it's quite a limited menu.
Fabulous cakes, teas and biscuits! My friend and I had the Christmas afternoon tea (vegetarian) and it was just so yummy. We opted for the ginger tea and it was a real delight. The Stilton and chutney finger sandwiches were absolutely Devine! The tearoom is quaint and has a very homely atmosphere. Everything is fresh and baked on site and the owner Clare sprinkles passion into every single one of her cakes! I highly recommend the chocolate chip scones.
