Tom's Kitchen Somerset House

The service was mixed, one person good the otheer rubbish. The food was fab, the view from the window table was great. We'll go again although a tad expensive, so not your everyday eaterie.

The setting is perfect, right by the river, with lovely high-ceilinged, airy rooms. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and really good, and the food is fresh, no-nonsense English-based dishes, all cooked beautifully, and extremely tasty. Tables are scrubbed pine with no fancy tablecloths, and the floors are wood. It's simple but delicious. This is a new favourite of mine. Ideally-located for any of the South Bank theatres, Covent Garden, Aldwych, and if you are coming in or out of Waterloo station. When we went, the Somerset House ice rink was in full swing, which added to the atmosphere.

Lovely menu on a cold winter's evening with great use of seasonal produce. We enjoyed all the dishes we tried, and thought it good value for the quality of the food. The ambience is a little odd due to the restrictions of the venue but the staff were excellent, providing just the right amount of attention

The food was incredible, with the fillet steak being a standout dish. The truffle chips complemented it perfectly. The restaurant also offered a great variety of wines to enjoy.

The menu is outstanding, the prices are fair, and the service is exceptional. I will definitely be coming back!
