What Stomperem doesn't like about Soho Japan:
Conveniently located across the street from Baker St station we had dinner here with a few friends. They ran out of a few dishes we wanted to order on the menu. They didn't seem to offer main dishes except a few soups. I needed to order three dishes to feel full. I had deep fried oysters, tuna and salmon makl rolls. The consensus was that the food was well prepared but you wouldn't come here for value for money. The s... View all feedback.
Not the nicest of all the places I've been to, but serves very good food. I was attracted when walking past and seeing that is it packed with people. My friend loves authentic Japanese kitchen (well she is Japanese herself) and we decided to go for lunch one day. As we got the menus she became very excited, reading the menu out in Japanese saying that the dishes are very authentic and not common to find in London. We both chose to order from the Hot meals' section as it was a competitive offer (miso soup, rice, side salad and a main of your choice for about pounds). She went for the Salmon fillets pan-fried in Teriyaki sauce, and I went for the Chicken in Teriyaki sauce (this was before I realised that soya sauce has gluten in it). The meal was very tasty, and we though that it was an excellent place to go for a fast lunch. I would say that this is a great little place in London to go to, if you want to eat healthy but definitely not a place for a romantic date.

Not the most beautiful of all places where I was, but served very good food. I was dressed when I went by and saw it was filled with humans. my friend loves authentic Japanese cuisine (yes, she is Japanese herself) and we decided to go to lunch. when we got the menus, it was very excited and read the menu in Japanese and said that the dishes are very authentic and not usual to find in london. we both decided to order from the rubric "Hot Menus" as it was a competitive offer (Miso soup, rice, natalat and a main of their choice for about 10 pfund.) she went for the salmon fillets in teriyaki sauce, and I went for the hay in teriyaki sauce (which was so fast, before I realized that it was so hot) I would say that this is a large small place in london to go if they want to eat healthy, but definitiw no place for a romantic date.
Soho japan is a traditional Japanese restaurant right opposite the baker street tube station. surrounded by chain restaurants/pubs, soho japan stands out. the menu is partly written in Japanese and offers dishes that they cannot find in large chains. the staff is friendly and the food was delicious. I recommend the green teak cake and would definitely go back!
So happy, this friendly and super tasty Japanese restaurant have found! ask for a soft dish crab for them only fried not in a roll. it is not on the menu, so ask them to check with the kitchen! beautiful!
