What User doesn't like about Grenadier:
Rudest, stupidest landlord staff ever. Dear Reader, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES VISIT THIS PLACE. THE STAFF AND LANDLORD ARE TRULY HORRIBLE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, ONLY ABOUT YOUR WALLET. NOW I'VE WARNED YOU I'LL EXPLAIN. . .AND IT IS A LONG MOAN SO APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE I've lived in London all my life and been to all sorts of good and not so good places. I went to the Grenadier after reading a couple of reviews... View all feedback.
Beautiful, small mews pub, steeped in history. Apparently a former Army Officers’ Mess. Came here to avoid the crowds at the weekend of our late Queen’s funeral. Off the beaten track, so definitely more of a locals’ pub than a tourists’ pub. Lovely zinc bar and a good choice of cask and keg. Enjoyed a couple of pints of well-kept Landlord. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Very nice pub with pretty good food and a lovely atmosphere. The pub is really nice, has a traditional feeling to it as it is quite small and feels authentic. Nice staff and good drinks. Food is pretty good, burger a bit dry and the beef wellington, at £32 probably isn’t worth it, but pork and chicken roast were good. Recommended for a nice drink
One of the best secret pubs in London. We stumbled upon it on the way back to our hotel, and had dinner there. Great vibe locals and students frequent it, and you can't blame them the place is fantastic from the food to the service to the decor. Ceiling is covered with paper money. It almost make you feel like you go back in time. A wonderful experience.
A great little hidden gem of a pub steeped in history dating as far back as the 1700s if not further, small in size but makes up for it in a good selection of food and drink with friendly staff. A spooky storie resides in the pub of a soldier that cheated at cards and owed lots of money in debt, as you look up at the ceiling filled with notes and messages from across the world to help pay his debt to move on.
Out of the way gem of a bar that's tucked away in a seemingly residential corner of London. Incredibly friendly staff! Great selection of beer and cider. Great bar eats! Highly recommend trying the Scotch eggs! Be sure to look up while you're there. The ceiling is also covered in dollar bills with little messages written on them.
