Contribute FeedbackC&B Fleet Place offers a mixed dining experience that varies greatly depending on the occasion. While many guests appreciate the vibrant atmosphere, attentive staff, and a well-curated drink selection, they often encounter significant service delays and inconsistent food quality. Past complaints highlight long waits for food, cold dishes, and disappointments with specific menu items like burgers and buns. Nevertheless, some patrons have had exceptionally positive interactions, lauding the friendly service and inviting ambiance enhanced by views of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Overall, while the venue is appealing, the service inconsistencies leave guests questioning their return.
We made a reservation for a table for four at lunchtime to try the BBQ menu. Upon arrival, our drinks order was taken but we had to wait 25 minutes for our food order to be taken. When the waiter finally came over after 15 minutes, we were interrupted by another table demanding drinks, causing further delay. After we placed our food order, we waited 40 minutes and were concerned about getting back to work on time. Despite inquiring with a waitress about the status of our food, she never returned and one of my colleagues had to leave without being served due to a scheduled meeting. We had to cancel his order and another waiter had to check on the status of our food, which had been an hour since we ordered at that point. When our meals finally arrived, two out of three were correct, with one needing to be returned. Unfortunately, our colleague who received the correct order had finished eating by the time our meals arrived. To top it off, when we asked for the bill, a 12.5% service charge was added, which we found to be inappropriate. Although we had a good experience at C&B Fleet Place before, this recent visit has left us unsure if we will return.
I enjoyed my meal at this restaurant, but the quality of the barbequed burgers has declined in recent years. The one I ordered was dry and seemed to be of supermarket quality, not what I would expect for the price of £9. However, the pulled pork sandwich, mini sausages, and chips were all delicious. The restaurant also has a great outdoor seating area perfect for sunny days in the City.
