What G Bach doesn't like about Punto Rojo Bakery Queens:
Tried on the day after initial opening. Empanadas were good, but chicken empanadas were a little dry for my liking. Service was a little slow, but that's expected when it's very busy and the first few opening days. Had good experiences at other locationson LI. Update (11/2022): Service was good. Food was delicious. Very clean and organized restaurant. View all feedback.
The food is really good, trustable and well prepared! I?m blessed to have this restaurant close by!
One of the worst managers runs this joint. The girl behind the cashier is obnoxious and extremely unprofessional. Where is the guy who used to be there? Gave me the wrong order and then gave such a nasty attitude. When she was confronted, she neverapologized and threatened to call the cops. Terrible person to be in charge of a decent restaurant. And to spite me more, theorder she messed up and replaced was burnt. Burnt empanadas. See pictures. Vicious! If the owner of this restaurant reads this, she should be fired right away. UPDATE: No cops were called. And no one came. Again lies by this establishment. I was thrownout and no apologies were offered. A sad way to deal with a customer when they need you to stay in business. Picture of foodprovided is proof of how spiteful they are.
I visited the restaurant the day after it opened. The empanadas were tasty, but I found the chicken empanadas to be a bit dry for my taste. The service was somewhat slow, which is understandable given the busy opening days. I've had positive experiences at their other locations on Long Island. Update (11/2022): The service improved, the food was delicious, and the restaurant was very clean and well-organized.
What a delightful little restaurant and bakery that offers a variety of delicious authentic Colombian treats! I always order the empanadas, chicharrones, and plantains. The staff is incredibly friendly as well! I highly recommend this place!
My mother, who is from Colombia, tried the "pan con queso" here and was quite disappointed. Just a heads up: they only put a small amount of cheese on top, and there’s none inside the bread. I want to emphasize that THE CHEESE IS NOT INSIDE. This place feels very cheap, and it’s unfortunate that they don’t honor the traditional way it's served in Colombia, where they fill the bread with a lot of cheese. If there’s no cheese inside, it should be clearly stated on the menu. It's misleading to advertise it as "pan con queso" when it only has cheese on top. I’m shaking my head.
