What User doesn't like about Banana Leaf:
We arrived at the restaurant for a late lunch. We were advised that they were closing in half an hour but are still serving. The menu had so many different selections on the menu that I was a bit confused. Curries, fish and chips, risotto, cesear salad, perhaps a good idea for family dining? It reminded me of an RSL club style of menu.I ordered a curry and unfortunately it was room temperature. The two side vege curr... View all feedback.

We took interstate friends to dinner at Banana Leaf and had a wonderful dining experience. Everyone chose a different meal and they were all excellent. Also, the waitresses was friendly and helpful. I would this restaurant to anyone.
A friend and I came for an early pre-theatre dinner on Friday night. It was my first time and my dining companion's second time. Normally, we would have eaten at one of those quick and cheap places that are prevalent in the city for a $15 meal so this was a treat. We split the main serving of the octopus entree for an entree, which was the perfect size. Then I had the chicken biryani and my companion the pork dish. All were superb. Our meal came to around $90 for two (without wine) so a decent mid-range price. We could have gone to one of those quick and cheap places but for extra, it was worth it for superb customer service from the waiting staff, excellent food made with that extra attention, a white table cloth, ambiance, and a relaxed atmosphere (not like those cheap places where you eat and run). I think we will be back.
The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We chose a range of traditional Sri Lankan and modern cuisine. Each was beautifully presented and flavourful. Desert of chocolate mouse, Love Cake and Mango Melba were a perfect finish.
We have had so many meals here that i have lost count. We keep coming back because of the outstanding food, consistently excellent service and convenient location. The menu is comprehensive whilst the food is superbly cooked and bursting with flavours that tempt the taste buds. Hard to fault really. The wine list is excellent with good varietal/brand selections. The service is superb. Attentive at all times but never intrusive at all.All this combines to make for an excellent dining experience. Your sure to enjoy.
