If there were such staff in Istria (in SLO and CRO) they would be crowded with tourists in the season and off season, i.e. all year round! Respect the Čigoč Tradition! Rooms: 5

I also really enjoyed the food, which was all homemade and the ingredients locally sourced. Very special, thank you!

Absolutely beautiful stay in a restored 19th century wooden building set in nature. The house is gorgeous with flowers, decorative artifacts, and carved details... read more Absolutely beautiful stay in a restored 19th century wooden building set in nature. The house is gorgeous with flowers, decorative artifacts, and carved details. The grassy grounds are pleasantly set on a waterway right next to a hiking trail. There is a stork nest on the roof which should have birds during the season, like many of the houses in this famous stork village. The restaurant is outstanding, serving traditional dishes with vegetarian options. Portions are generous and reasonably priced. Try the pancakes with the homemade plum jam. There can be mosquitoes, but they mainly come out during the evenings, and you can just eat indoors. The proprietors are super friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. They restored the 1870 building themselves. It has WiFi and plenty of outlets in the rooms, and even discreetly located solar panels on the grounds. We would definitely stay here again.
