Cocula - Cicero
Cocula
Description
A warm, family-run restaurant blending Spanish and Mexican flavors—paella, tacos, steak enchiladas and lively sangrias earn frequent praise. Attentive service, terrace and indoor seating and a welcoming atmosphere make it a neighborhood favorite, with prices from casual to upscale dinners. Free lot and street parking are available though spots can be tight. Some guests note inconsistent items—bland guacamole, sparse cheese, surprise dressings, weak seafood soups—and occasional cleanliness concerns, but overall the food and hospitality keep diners returning.

The waitress was so sweet. I got a taco plate for dinner with only onion, no cilantro (it tastes like soap to me). The kitchen accidentally did the opposite. I was fully prepared to eat it, since I don't like causing an issue. Our waitress noticed it once she came back around, and fixed it for me with some extra cebolitas. It was absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area. Food: 5
