One can drive a truck through the gap that separates a good kebab from a bad one. This and the sister (well, son actually shop in Cuba St stand alone in Wgtn when it comes to Lebanese food. Not a sliver of raw onion, no brown-fringed lettuce, not a glimpse of 'mystery meat ' dog roll anywhere to be seen.This is real food. Home cooked, with real spices, served with tasty condiments. It 's the only take-away I can have without worrying about my food intolerances. The lamb is backstrap, melts in your mouth, makes you feel good about life. As for the home-made sausages...even my own (Italian mother, possibly the world 's toughest sausage-critic, gave these puppies a raised eyebrow and almost a smile. That 's some praise! The vine leaves leave you with no doubt that Mamma 's been doing this a while, and I dare you to try a blind tasting of one of these morsels against any other wannabe from any restaurant or deli.And if you think (like I used to that Baclava is nothing but a drowning mess of pastry, butter, honey and ho-hum, save yourself some space for one. Delish!
