I was taken here by my Korean friend and was told this one is best in town. We ordered most of the dishes as we were a big group and everything was delicious. Price is good, only down side is they close quite early. I would definitely recommend this place if you want some authentic Korean food. View all feedback.
Food was delicious and service was fast. Tried kimchi for the first time, wasn’t as good as expected but overall the food was good can’t wait to go again
My Korean experience today was an unexpected explosion of excitement! <br/ <br/ It came out in a clay pot sizzling n bubbling! For those that enjoy a bit of theatre this tofu and spicy soup number will have you smiling.<br/ The additionally amazing side dishes on offer today were; Kimchi, beansprouts, and potato! There are also condiments on the table such as chilli, vinegar, and soy sauce.<br/ <br/ For a sizzling, bubbling, warming good time get yo-self a Sundubu!
Jjangmyeon was delicious!!!I really enjoyed the flavour and wish that they sold this everyday! Had the right amount of spice and I completely demolished the dish!<br/
I have always enjoyed their Bulgogi and the side dishes. This is one of the authentic Korean restaurants (I know the couple in the kitchen are Koreans and I had known them for some time, but that doesn't make this review biased, haha! in Welly. Good value with great taste, and located in a very private nook along Manner's Street. I think their location is a bit of a disadvantage for them since they're not visible from the sidewalk. This time, I dined with a good friend from Peru and she enjoyed the experience, saying she liked the kimchi!
Was craving a hot Korean meal during a cold evening and stopped by Country House. This is one of my more frequented Korean restaurants in Wellington central, and you'll see why.<br/ <br/ I got a bibimbap and it came with a bottle of gochujang for me to add in, as usual. The mixed rice was just what I needed: it had protein, lots of veggies, rice, and a generous portion of gochujang. I was also pleasantly surprised when one of the complimentary side dishes turned out to be kimchi pancake. I adore Korean pancakes and having this on the side totally made my meal complete. All the times I've been here, the food has always been well made and it has quick service, which is a massive bonus. <br/ <br/ On Fridays or Saturdays (can't remember which one), they also have jjajangmyeon. As far as I know, Country House is the only place that does this dish in town. So it's definitely a place to hit up if you want some of that goodness! <br/ <br/ My only gripe I have with this place is that it doesn't offer as much variety as the other Korean places in the city. If it had a wider range of food, I would give it a 4.5.<br/ <br/ Showstopper: Authentic food and warm service <br/ <br/ Overall grade: A
