Discovered this Mexican Filipino fusion restaurant in Chula Vista and it was surprisingly good. Most Filipino places don 't have decent portions but this place has generous portions. My friend and I ate the Mexipino and Magandang Umaga which means good morning in Tagalog and we really enjoyed. The dude who served us Richie was polite and patient and service was prompt. What we didn 't eat but the tables beside us did... View all feedback.
Amazing food. We ordered Mr.Toast original (French toast), Los ChillaKillez and chunky chorizo, hands down great portions and great service. This is our 2nd time here and still taste as great and the first time. Totally recommend this spot.
In addition to the photos I posted we also ordered fried chicken adobo and waffles and traditional Filipino breakfast longanisa with garlic rice. Food and service was good. Plan on returning when I am in the area again.
Great food, big portions! We love to go for a nice brunch with the family! Waiter was nice too!
I 've been to Mexipino a few times already. The first time was a few years ago and I felt like I liked it for a Fusion restaurant. Being Filipino and loving Mexico food as well, it seemed like a no brainer. The restaurant is kinda small, but cute. I don 't know why but it always was hot and smelled weird a little bit, probably because the kitchen is open ceiling and smell fills up the room. Anyways, today I ordered a chicken tocino magandang umaga. It comes with 2 eggs (however you want), garlic rice, your choice of protein (chicken tocino, spam, longanisa). I chose tocino because I was craving it. I didn 't want to drive to National City or even to the Seafood City on Orange Ave to get my fix. The chicken was okay. No weird pieces but it didn 't taste like much. The garlic rice was bad. Didn 't look like there were garlic pieces in it and it was pretty sticky, they just have used calrose instead of jasmine or something. It tasted like they didn 't wash the rice before cooking it or something. It had this after taste that was baaaaad. I asked for spicy vinegar, they had none. Usually Filipino breakfast comes with spicy vinegar but it wasn 't even an option. It was just all very sad. Food was bland. The girl was nice but it was just not what I was expecting as a quick fix for Filipino breakfast.

What we didn 't eat but the tables beside us did was The Giants which were pizza sized pancakes in different flavors. We even watched a customer order one of these giant pancakes to go. Must be a popular dish. Will definitely eat here again when we visit Chula Vista.
