Heard about this place, thought we'd stop on our way home from LaRonge. Somewhat hidden from street view but worth looking for. Extensive menu with great entree choices. Reasonably priced. Wait staff is friendly and witty. Portions are generous and most of the food is...homemade. Does anyone make their own dry ribs? Soup is amazing, salad is fresh; everything made to order. All the Dad's at the table got a Father's D... View all feedback.
If you are in the area, the Lake Country Cottage Restaurant should definitely be put on your places to stop! The staff is so friendly and the food is unbeatable! If you want a good, hearty, home cooked meal, look no further. The prices are...very fair and the portions are generous. We had the veal cutlets and the liver and onions (both were delicious and by the time we had were done, we didn't have an inch of room for the yummy looking homemade pies...we'll have to stop in for just dessert! Being permanent residents in the area, we are very excited that the restaurant is open year round. We will be back again and again!
Have been eating at the restaurant for years and have found it consistent in every aspect,. Friendly service, good food, and an interesting environment. The tables at the window have bird feeders hung at them, so try and sit at one with a good line...of sight to the feeders, and you will be rewarded with birds to watch while you eat. Definitely not the fanciest restaurant around, but really really good at being what it is. If you like turkey, the turkey dinners are excellent, and the dressing is second to none.
We took a break from cooking at the cabin and stopped in for lunch. We both ordered the beef dip with fries. The bun was piled high with fresh cooked roast beef and the au juice was nice tasting. Fries were hot and we both...had a side of gravy. It was a very nice lunch. The dessert menu was very reasonably priced. The special of the day was fresh BC Peach pie. We were too full to indulge, so we decided to take-out our dessert. The peach pie could have used a little more sugar, but the peaches were definitely fresh. We also ordered Cinnamon Buns and this was a huge disappointment. The cinnamon buns tasted and smelled like they were freezer burnt. No way were they fresh. We took bite and had to spit it out and throw the rest of the buns away. Very disappointing waste of money. Service was very good. Our server was friendly and was quick to re-fill our drinks. They have bird feeders outside the windows, so while you eat, you can watch the finches and other small birds just inches from your table. There is a warm and cabin like atmosphere in the restaurant and overall, it was an enjoyable meal.
Nice vater that goes out day. was quite busy in the restaurant, but came in right. the personal was as usual very friendly. eating is fresh and hot and tastes wonderful. the homemade burgers are great. it was great and will definitely return regularly. great job!
