Food was very slow coming out. Sunday dinners were lovely. Goats cheese tartlet was disappointing. Had asked for it hot and was only mildly luke warm. Would have been served with a better salad was just a bit boring. Tartlet was tasty but a bit small. Lovely place though
I keep coming back whenever in the area. Being Coeliac it’s very important to know that staff know what the issues are with being coeliac- wonderful food and service.
While I appreciate that Tuesdays offer a 50% discount on the food bill, I find it hard to justify the nearly £19 price tag for the half chicken on the menu. It was supposed to come with watercress, but instead, I received rocket. The dish promised herb and garlic roasting, yet there was no trace of that flavor, and the aioli was also lacking any garlic taste. The overall presentation was quite unappealing. The skin-on fries appeared to be overcooked, possibly even double-fried, and they seemed to have been reheated rather than freshly made. My wife’s crispy chilli beef salad was anything but crispy—it was tough instead. I could have made a better version in my air fryer at home! Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I certainly wouldn't consider paying full price at this restaurant. Was it just bad luck ordering at 8:15 and being served at 8:50? The place wasn't even full at the time.
I visited the area and tried several restaurants over a few days, and this one was by far the best! The service and food were excellent.
The venue looks very nice and with good reviews we had high hopes for Sunday lunch. The initial impression was good with pleasant waitress showing us to our table. She took the drinks order and these appeared within a reasonable time. We ordered food and sat waiting. It took 45 minutes for the food to come, with no apologies for the wait. The food tasted ok, but nothing more. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant, and certainly not enough to justify the wait. Unfortunately, we could not rate it higher because of the long wait time for food. We will not be going again.
