It has a quirky interior, and a nice small garden area at the back. The staff were friendly, and the food was great. Steak perfectly cooked. Only bad points are the walls around the toilet area are filthy, and the toilets a bit grim. Also, tables and chairs stuck in front of the bar so you can't get near it, are a strange idea. We looked forward to visiting this restaurant. We ordered a sharing platter for our starter which was a little disappointing, mains were tasty, I ordered the knickerbocker glory for dessert and it was a real disappointment- it had hardly any substance to it and 1 Oreo ! Had a 50th party with friends in this restaurant itself and a friend had the penang lamb curry it was the worse meal I had, the lamb was dry and overcooked, I mentioned it to one of the workers and they said they would. read the cook, I was just after and my friend, who had it sick. I sent the pub by e-mail and they did not have the answer
Mid morning in Christchurch and we were looking for a coffee. Decided to stop at the Ship and pleased we did. Coffee was good, staff friendly, and the pub was quiet. Perfect!
We often go here when we're in Christchurch. Such a lovely pub restaurant and very welcoming. The décor is really nice too. We usually have the cod and chips or burger and chips. Both are always cooked to perfection and are generous in size....Prices are reasonable too. Great place to eat, drink, enjoy and relax.
Couple of visits here, really lovely welcome and interior is amazing warm cosy with lots of nooks and crannies to sink into! Great addition to the high street!
The Ship is a beautiful Pan-Asian restaurant. They also make the best roast dinner I’ve ever had in my opinion. Lovely food. Charismatic and fast service. Beautiful scenery.
