Unfortunately, the food quality has received mixed reviews in the past, with some customers expressing disappointment. Charming and inviting pub. Perfect for a leisurely stroll along the canal and enjoying a refreshing beer or wine break. I will definitely return during the summer, as the setting is so lovely.
I'm not sure what the previous review was all about, clearly written by someone with personal issues. I have been a regular at this pub for several years and I am thrilled to see it reopen. The new team here is professional and always creates a warm and friendly atmosphere. I am looking forward to trying the food, as I'm sure it will be fantastic. The beer is excellent and I am happy to see that it is still dog-friendly. I believe that the Top Lock has finally found a great landlord and management team that will help it thrive. I highly recommend paying a visit.
Recently reopened, it's a nice stop off in a picturesque situation on the banks of the canal. A reasonable selection of drinks with a few cask beers on. Currently no food available and closed Mondays. Well worth a visit and hope it does well.
Found this place on Yelp from the highway. Decided to pull off and drive the 4 miles. We didn't want fast food. Pleasantly surprised. Food was great. Very friendly atmosphere. Right next to a lock where we got to see a boat pass trough which was a bonus. Recommend for pub food and atmosphere.
The beer is decent, the food is good, and the restaurant is dog-friendly.
