While many praised the warm atmosphere, attentive staff, and delightful dishes like the Ploughman’s Lunch and flavorful curries, others were disappointed by slow service and subpar meals, describing them as unappetizing. Some diners appreciated the rustic decor and enhanced outdoor area, while others noted that prices felt high for quality. For those seeking a cozy dining experience with a variety of menu options, this establishment may be worth a visit, but expectations regarding service and food quality should be tempered.
I was informed there would be a 25-30 minute wait for our food, but I was willing to wait. However, 55 minutes later, I was served the worst roast I have ever tried to eat. The potatoes were stale, the vegetables were hard, and my friend's pie tasted like it came from a tin, accompanied by half-cooked chips. We couldn't leave fast enough, and the staff didn't even ask if the food was okay when we paid.
Came out today for a meal with a family member and the food and drinks where amazing, good choice of beers and spirits. Would recommend going for a bite to eat.
We were staying at the best western and round the corner headed to the local pub. Lovely old traditional pub, very friendly staff that were knowledgeable about the beer selection. Got great chat from the friendly barmaid. Opted to have some food before the kitchen closed and the chicken sharer went down a treat. Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area or staying at the park hall hotel. Nice and traditional bar which is hard to come by.
This restaurant is a disaster. There was only one amazing staff member the day before, but yesterday with two staff it was a complete disaster. We left after waiting for 19 minutes with no drinks or food.
It was grim, today sat there for 17 minutes, no bar service and left, 2 blokes came in and left after 10 minutes. Yesterday had BLT you could put on your shoes, the replacement meal sill had the original greasy chips on 20 minutes later. Evidently have a school dinner lady doing the cooking. Will try final time Thursday as on a no food diet., So will go to Verdes
